What We Believe

God’s story is of love and redemption. The message that most clearly shows this redemptive love is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus (I John 3:16). Paul says this message is of most importance (I Corinthians 15:3). As God reveals His nature through the stories of the Bible, several teachings emerge as central truths. These teachings form the core values of our beliefs.

Our Core Values

  • We believe that there is one God.  That he is expressed as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 6:9, Hebrews 1:8, John 14:15-17 &  II Corinthians 13:14)
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God.  That he was God and man and died for the sins of all people.  That He rose from the dead, and is now in heaven, and will come again. (John 3:16, Romans 5:18-21 & I Thessalonians 3:13-18)
  • We believe that the promise of the Holy Spirit is for all believers.  The Spirit helps guide, comfort, strengthen, and provide discernment. (Acts 2:38 & Romans 8: 26-27)
  • We believe that the Bible is the Word of God.  It is the good news of God's relationship with man.  It is a teacher and guide for people.  (II Timothy 3:16f)
  • We believe that the church is part of God's kingdom and plan.  God wants all his believers to be part of a community of faith.  This community is a call for unity, regardless of ethnic, gender or status. (Mat 16:18 & Gal 3:26f)
  • We believe that God expects all of His follower to be witnesses.  We are living testimonies in every part of our lives.  (Matthew 28:16-20)
  • We believe that God wants a relationship with everyone.  That the sacrificial gift of Christ's blood is for all.  We are saved by faith, and it is our mission to proclaim the good news to a lost world. (I Timothy 2:4, Ephesians 2:8-9 & II Corinthians 5:14-15)
